cair for Asthma & Allergies

We spend 90% of our time indoors and poor indoor air can trigger coughing, sore throats, itchy eyes, headaches, allergies and even an asthma attack.

It can cause new symptoms to develop or exacerbate existing ones.

Triggers are particles or chemicals present in the air that can illicit an allergic response for people with allergies or asthma. Most people are unaware of their own specific triggers, and are often unaware of impeding episodes because of this.

Knowing your Asthma and Allergy Triggers

Some people are more sensitive to certain triggers over others, so it is important to understand your own personal triggers. Some of the most common triggers are Allergens (pet dander, dust mite droppings etc.), smoke from cooking, fine dust, mould spores.

Chemicals in the Air — VOC's (Volatile Organic Compunds). These evaporate from materials or chemicals in the home including: furniture, cleaning products, cosmetics, scented candles, open fires.

Asthma is a complex chronic disease and influenced by many factors, including poor air quality. Clinical management alone is not enough. If we are exposed to asthma triggers regularly in our home -we also need to identify possible triggers to help prevent future symptoms and attacks. Research has shown components of indoor air pollution can cause and aggravate asthma & allergies.

Managing your Triggers

Understanding your environment is a key step in managing your asthma or allergies. If you are aware of what factors inside your home can cause your symptoms, you can take action.

The cair air quality monitor is designed to help people with asthma and allergies. Via its smartphone app it will alert you with personalised notifications when levels of airborne contaminants & irritants (like animal dander, mold, toxins & pollen) are elevated.

Monitor Peak Flow with cair app

Healthcare professionals recommend that asthma sufferers follow an asthma management plan to ensure their condition is kept under control. This includes advice on when to use an inhaler as well as tracking how the airways are performing by using a Peak Flow Meter. A Peak Flow Meter gives a reading (peak expiratory flow or PEF) which tells how open the airways are. During episodes of poor asthma control the airways become narrowed and the PEF falls.

Along with tracking indoor air quality the cair sensor also includes a feature to help users to tracktheir PEF readings via the cair app using the familiar Log Data button.

Indoor air pollutants found in certain furnishings, toys and paints can negatively affect the breathing and health of your baby.

Use as an environmental monitor in your baby’s nursery and receive alerts when temperature, humidity, or contaminants are outside optimum levels.
